Designers, video editors & small creative teams · review decisions

Three reviewers.
Two directions.
One final decision.

Group comments that affect the same element, name one decision owner and verify the version that implements the final instruction.

Excel workbook, ten fictional action cases, CSV example and one-page PDF · no email or purchase required

1. Group comments by affected element

Use one Group ID for comments about the same page, frame, timecode, headline or component. Keep links back to the original comments.

2. Count the directions

Record how many signals say Change, Keep or Question. The counts expose a disagreement; they do not turn stakeholder authority into a vote.

3. Assign one decision owner

Name the person authorized to resolve that group. When Change and Keep both appear and the decision is still pending, the workbook returns RESOLVE MIXED SIGNALS.

4. Write one final instruction

Choose Change, Keep, Clarify or Not applicable. A change stays open until the final instruction is specific enough to implement.

5. Verify the implemented version

Record the version containing the change, compare it with the instruction and mark Yes only after that check. The original review version remains visible.

What this check does not replace

It does not annotate files, compare pixels, send reminders, preserve approval signatures or decide which reviewer has authority. Keep the proofing system, source files and client agreement as the record of truth.
