Freelancers & small agencies · client exits

Close client access
without storing secrets.

List every account or asset, name the receiving owner, choose the exit action and keep non-sensitive evidence beside the deadline.

Excel workbook, eleven fictional edge cases, CSV example and one-page PDF · no email or purchase required

1. Inventory one resource per row

Include domains, hosting, repositories, file stores, analytics, advertising accounts, automations, email and billing resources used during the engagement.

2. Name the next owner

A transfer is not ready when the client has not named the receiving person or team. Keep the owner separate from the current holder.

3. Choose the actual exit action

Transfer ownership, remove your access, remove client access, export and deliver, retain temporarily or document that no action is required.

4. Keep passwords and tokens out

Record only a password-manager item label or secure transfer reference. Never paste a password, API key, token or recovery code into an ordinary spreadsheet.

5. Close with evidence

Use a non-sensitive ticket, audit-log ID, delivery receipt or confirmation reference. The workbook keeps a completed date without evidence open for review.

What COMPLETE means

The modeled fields are filled and consistent. It does not prove the external platform changed, the client accepted legal responsibility or a retention duty ended. Verify every change in the real system.
