SHARED COMPONENT BUNDLE CHECK v1.0
Scope & Follow | Free offline workbook | English

PURPOSE
For a gift-set or craft-kit maker planning several bundles against ONE stock
snapshot. Combine demand for each shared component across the whole plan.
This is a planning worksheet, not live stock, order management or store sync.

FILES
Shared_Component_Bundle_Check_v1.xlsx: Bundle Check, Worked Example, Read me.
Fictional_Bundle_Plan.csv, Fictional_Components.csv and Fictional_BOM.csv:
separate example input tables, not automatic imports.
Before_You_Promise_The_Bundles.pdf: independent one-page manual checklist.
README.txt and LICENSE.txt.

CAPACITY AND UNITS
10 bundles, 20 component IDs, 60 bill-of-materials (BOM) lines.
All quantities are whole EACH units (0-1,000,000 for stocks/reservations/plans;
1-1,000,000 components per set). No grams, lengths, fractions, yields or scrap.
Use the SAME component ID for one shared stock pool. Do not duplicate physical
stock under another ID or load the same stock into separate planning files.

START IN THIS ORDER
1. On Bundle Check, enter each component in G8:J27: ID, name, usable stock and
stock reserved OUTSIDE this plan. Usable stock includes those reservations.
Exclude damaged/unusable units. Net for plan = usable minus reserved outside.
If your stock count already excludes commitments, enter 0 outside; do not
subtract them twice. A known zero is 0. Missing inputs are not assumed zero.
2. Enter each bundle and planned count in A8:C17. Include ALL bundles drawing
on this stock pool. Known zero planned count is allowed but still needs a BOM.
3. Below the stock tables, enter every unique bundle/component pair in A32:C91
with its whole count per set. Include packaging, tags and inserts. Do not
repeat the pair; combine its required count on one line.
4. Fix every visible row warning. Input state READY means entered structure is
valid enough to calculate, NOT that the BOM or physical count is complete.
5. Read Total demand, Short units and Balance separately for each component.
Demand = sum(planned sets x each per set) for ALL bundles using that part.
Balance = net stock - demand. Short units = max(0, -balance).
6. If shortage appears, revise planned sets or verify additional usable stock.
Recheck every component. Do not total shortages of unlike components.

ID RULES
Use text IDs, uppercase letters/digits/dashes/underscores recommended. No
leading/trailing spaces or *, ? or ~. Keep each bundle ID unique and each
component ID unique. Duplicate IDs and duplicate BOM pairs block the plan.
FILL / FIX INPUTS means a required value is missing, not text ID, not numeric,
or not in the required form. FIX ID OR COUNT means duplicate ID or invalid count.
FIX BUNDLE/COMPONENT means the referenced ID is absent or its input row is invalid.
ADD BOM means a bundle has no BOM row. The file cannot identify a part you
forgot entirely: a human must verify that each BOM is complete.
RESERVED > STOCK means commitments exceed the entered usable stock; correct
the source records rather than hiding that inconsistency.

FICTIONAL EXAMPLE
SMALL: 12 sets, each uses 1 BOX, 1 CARD, 1 WRAP.
LARGE: 8 sets, each uses 1 BOX, 2 CARD, 2 WRAP, 1 TAG.
BOX stock 25, reserved outside 7: net 18. Demand 12+8=20, shortage 2, balance -2.
CARD demand 28, WRAP demand 28, TAG demand 8.
Reducing SMALL from 12 to 10 clears this example's shortage. This is not an
optimized product mix or a recommendation about which orders to prioritize.

KEEP THE REAL INVENTORY SEPARATE
Save a dated working copy and note your stock-count time in your own records.
After receiving stock, selling, reserving or packing, update the real source
system and refresh the snapshot. This workbook does not deduct inventory,
reserve stock, synchronize a marketplace or verify physical availability.
Do not sort only one column; records belong together. Use an untouched copy
if you damage formulas. Formula cells are visible and editable, not locked.

LIMITS
No multi-location pooling, dated reservations, open purchase orders, inbound
stock promises, nested subassemblies, substitutions, loss allowance, unit
conversion, pricing, sales forecasts, optimal mix, reminders or live API.
READY/WITHIN ENTERED STOCK do not prove completeness, fulfilment or a safe
customer promise. No guaranteed savings, sales or prevention of overselling.
Use an anonymous stock plan; no customer personal data or credentials needed.
Native Excel, Google Sheets, mobile editing, physical printing and independent
target-user use remain unverified. Exact tests are in the Owner QA.

ALTERNATIVES
AnyTool offers a free bundle/kit builder including a consumption planner.
Shopify Bundles provides live component-based availability for eligible stores.
Stocksmith offers broader paid material/inventory workflows. Functional overlap
is high. Choose a live system when you need sync; this free file is a narrow,
editable offline alternative, not a unique or verified paid solution.
